Polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis(PAGE) is a common electrophoresis technique with polyacrylamide gels as the support media. Polyacrylamide gels are formed by polymerization of the monomer acrylamide crosslinked to the N,N’-methylene-bis-acrylamide. This process is a free-radical polymerization that requires a catalyst. PAGE assay kits have the advantages of cost effectiveness, low lab configuration and visualized results.
