Bladder cancer refers to malignant tumors arising from the epithelial lining of the bladder. It is one of the most common malignant tumors in the urinary system as well as one of the top 10 most frequently occurred tumors, ranking No.1 in the incidence of tumors in the urinary and reproductive systems in our country.
Clinically, approximately over 90% of the bladder cancer patients initially present with hematuria, usually painless, intermittent and gross hematuria(sometimes microscopic hematuria). The symptoms may occur only once or last from 1 day to several days, then alleviate and resolve spontaneously. The disappearance of the symptoms after medication usually give the patient an illusion of “recovery” while the real condition goes unnoticed.
